The Orders Of Wynter

Vinland, a land of frozen plains and endless snows. Where the wind cuts as sharp as any blade. Here stand the fortress holds of the Orders of Wynter, solitary bastions of life upon the lonely horizon.

Existence here is unforgiving and brutal, forging the people of Vinland into a folk as tough as tempered steel. In times of war, the knights and serjeants of the Order sally forth from their holds. Resplendent in bright surcoats and shining mail, a striking swathe of color across the otherwise bleak landscape. Yet when peace prevails, they joyfully welcome all at the roaring hearths of their halls for feast and celebration.

The traditions of the Orders have shaped a proud people who cherish valor and glory above all things. In a land where little survives, it is the sagas of the heroes that endure!

The Woodland Republic

Sablethorn, an endless wilderness where the looming trees cast an eternal twilight and smothering the world below in gloom. It is between these twisting boughs and knotted roots, where the shadows dance and the air is thick enough to choke upon that the people of the Woodland Republic reside.

Life between the trees is hard, where only the strong survive. As such the people of the Woodland Republic are resilient, strong, and close-knit. They are bound by a deep love for the forests and hills that have sheltered them for generations. Familial bonds are at the heart of their society, and they cherish their connection to one another and to the land above all else.

The culture of the Republic is one steeped in folklore and tradition, where the word of the elders is revered, and ancient rituals and remedies are carefully passed down through the ages via story and song.

The Liberated Cities

Azimar, a land of rolling heaths and fertile meadows where the air is sweet with the scent of wildflowers. Here lie the liberated cities, scattered like islands across the green expanse.

The idyllic beauty of Azimar’s landscape could easily shape the belief that is folk live a life of ease. But the land’s fertile soil has been watered with the blood of its people. Generations past, the cities suffered under the grip of a brutal dictatorship. Since their liberation, the people have been fiercely protective of their hard-won freedom, and to this day remain unyielding in the face of tyranny.

Shared struggles have forged a culture rooted in unity, where the scars of the past are woven into the fabric of everyday life. Though they have known the pain of oppression, they now thrive in a society built upon a foundation of action and determination. Festivals of liberation are held beneath the open sky, where the tales and songs of rebellion are passed down.

The Darkmire Quarters

Amid the steaming marshes and brackish swamps of the Darkmire Bayou lies the floating city of The Quarters, a sprawling, paradoxical metropolis where cobblestone streets intertwine with winding canals, and urban splendor blends seamlessly with rustic allure.

The people who reside within the limits of The Quarters are as paradoxical as the city itself. Ancient aristocrats mingle with the proletariat, while merchant bargemen drink and dine in waterfront taverns alongside the very river pirates who plague the outer waterways. Even the doctors here blend modern medicine with old-world rituals and charms, reflecting the city’s seamless fusion of tradition and innovation.

The unique environment of The Quarters breeds a vibrant and open-minded people. Shaped by the ever-changing tides of their home, they have developed a culture that not only accepts the different and the new, but actively embraces it!
